The Area

Bognor Regis has one of the highest sunshine records in the country.

Whilst the Royal Garden Hotel is situated in a quiet area, there are many local amenities nearby. For example, the magnificent Marine Park Gardens right outside the hotel. These gardens are beautifully maintained and display a riot of glorious colour and scents during the spring and summer months. There is a large putting green and convenient bench seating every 50 yards or so.

Aldwick and Bognor Regis are relatively hill free so walking, using wheelchairs or battery-powered buggies is particularly easy. The promenade, beach and sea are located just the other side of Marine Park Gardens. The promenade, leading into the town centre has many seats and shelters and is perfect for a leisurely stroll on a fine day.

“At the age of 82, still healthy, living on my own and not wishing to be a trouble in the future to good friends and neighbours, I realised I had a decision to make. I knew of the Royal Garden Hotel as I had lived in that area for many years, after helpful discussions with the hotel management I eventually sold my home and moved into a very nice room, newly furnished and big enough to bring some items of furniture etc.

I felt ‘at home’ from the start thanks to the management being on hand to help and advise and also to the wonderful staff who are always so caring and friendly. There are many activities if you wish to join in or just relax in the top lounge admiring the unrivalled sea views. It was a big decision to make but I have no regrets.”
